Gorgui Dieng, too?

A non-qualifier, off to junior college?

Nobody seems to know for sure except Card Chronicle. Unofficially, of course, but the messenger, the bearer of bad news.

If so, the University of Louisville must have one of the toughest entry systems in all of college basketball. Tedious, methodical, never in a hurry. Unpredictable.

More than likely, it’s another NCAA clearinghouse snag.

This sort of thing is supposed to be happening down the road. Oh, wait, it is.

Meanwhile, the keys to the new KFC Yum! Center are scheduled to be turned over to the Louisville Metro government during ribbon cutting ceremonies on Oct. 10.

Gov. Steve Beshear, Mayor Jerry Abramson, University of Louisville President James Ramsey and basketball coach Rick Pitino will all make remarks at the ceremony.

Any chance of putting this off for another year?

  1. Perhaps Calipari and Pitino can trade foreign centers. It seems eligibility is much tougher than dunking.

  2. It’s another one of those Africa situations with archaic communications systems. All anyone knows for sure is that these things take a while. Just ask Muhammad Lasege

  3. This afternoon on WKRD they stated that they spoke with Kenny Klein this afternoon and these are ALL RUMORS. Klein assured them that Dieng is in class at UofL with NO plans being made for JUCO. Klein stated that the NCAA clearing process takes a long time and there is nothing they can do about it, but Dieng’s status has not changed and is no different than it was a week ago, 2 weeks or even 3 weeks ago.

Klein did mention that today’s “rumors” were being started on the internet and spreading from there.
