Chane Behanan was in Louisville over the weekend enjoying all the festivities surrounding the opening game of the University of Louisville football season. He was impressed with all the new and expanded facilities, the enthusiasm of U of L fans.

Apparently Behanan wasn’t distracted in the least by Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari meandering on the periphery of the end zone Saturday. Nor was he enamored of being offered a UK scholarship on the day of an earlier visit to U of L recently.

“I’m going to the University of Louisville,” he told his teachers and classmates Tuesday at Bowling Green, Ky.

The 6-foot-8, 250-pound Behanan is considered the No. 1 player in the state and among the top 40 players in the nation, according to the Rivals and Scout recruiting services.

Calipari prowling the sidelines Saturday.

Of Behanan, an ESPN analyst says:

“Behanan has that thick frame that can take contact and finish in traffic. Despite his size he is deceptively bouncy and has good feet. He is quite good at facing up his defender and blowing by him to get to the rim. He can use a spin move as well to separate from the defense while getting to the basket. He is a terrific passer and demonstrates a nice feel for the game. His jump shot is solid out to 15-feet and he has generally a soft touch.”

One would hope that Quincy Miller and Deuce Bello were equally impressed and focused, ignoring Calipari’s frequent tweets during the football game.

  1. Calipari should not be in a white top. He might look better in red top though.hahah~
He loves attention! –Where oh where was Pitino when you need him????

  2. C’mon guys…Behanan is a great 4 star prospect, but he would not have gotten the play time he needs at UK. Truth be known, Cal probably made that quite clear to him. Certainly, Louisville needs him much more than UK.

    1. Excuses, excuses, excuses! Hmmm, actually maybe you needed him more than we since your pro player Enes Kanter has been exposed. No doubt, Chane made the right choice. GO CARDS!

  3. By the way, Chane wasn’t ignoring Calipari all summer when he was begging Kentucky to recruit him, was he?

  4. Calipari had no business whatsoever for being on the field before, during or after the football game. He doesn’t have enough class to realize the best possible thing he could have done was to be invisible while the football teams were in the spotlight. He’s going to self-destruct, it’s just a matter of time.

      1. That should be pretty obvious. His ego belongs in a seat, instead of trying to draw attention to himself. It was a football game, not a basketball event.

What’s really funny is that no one in Louisville invited him to their VIP suite. He had to sit in the stands with the ordinary Kentucky fans.

  5. Bo, I guess you are just better people than us. We don’t deserve to share the same planet with you. We shouldapologuze and have your #1 recruiting class and National Message Board Champions banners made so they can be raised at Big Blue Madness in 2 months. Please forgive us for our sin of threatening what defines your life, which is Kentucky basketball. Don’t worry, you root for the greatest program to ever grace the planet, which in turn makes you one of the greatest people ever. Bo, we worship your holiness, wonder and grace, and we marvel at your fanbase’s Internet presence, a sure sign of your godliness. We cower at the thought of your unstoppable coach allowing kids to come to your school simply for exposure and 4 months of streetball…we repent of our sin of wishing our coach would likewise sell out our program and title hopes for the same goal of networking and improving the NBA stock of certain 18 year olds. We admit our jealousy of not giving up integrity and hopes a Final Four in exchange for the “greatest night in the history of our program”, the NBA Draft.

Forgive us our sins, Bo. Amen.

  6. Probably had something to do with Behanan not jumping on Calipari’s scholarship offer. Apparently something has changed in the high school recruiting world; i.e., WWW status.

  7. You do realize that Calipari accepted Wiltjer’s commitment, essentially eliminating himself from Behanan’s list, correct? It had nothing to do with Behanan liking Louisville more than Kentucky or Pitino better than Calipari. UK took a higher ranked player (Wiltjer is at #19 on scout compared to Behanan at #29) and simply didn’t have room for him and enough playing time to go around. Don’t act like Calipari went all out trying to get Chane and Pitino beat him, because that isn’t the case at all.

    1. EXACTLY the response we would expect from you and your kind. Oh, and the next time you and your insecurities find you stalking a UofL board and your inferiority complex gets the best of you, try to post something without your blue kool-aid stains all over it. Louisville won this round, whether you want to believe it or not. GO CARDS!!!
