Were the food police involved in planning the concessions at the new KFC Yum! Center?

Someone in a suit wanting to eliminate some competition? Possible litigation concerns? Or just too messy to clean up after, as Ms. Observer suggested?

No peanuts. Not available at the new arena.

All one gets are blank stares at any of the dozen or so concession stops the observer has visited.

Who would have guessed a staple at American sporting events for decades would wind up being villainized?

Peanuts?

  1. Count your blessings. A friend who has a son at the Naval Academy took me to see a game in Annapolis. They sell peanuts in the stadium.

What they don’t sell is beer.

  2. I spent all of half time and four minutes of the second half at the Lady Cards game last night trying to buy a cup of coffee. Never got it. Unreal. Most places don’t serve it, found one that had run out and didn’t bother to make more, found a second one that served it but their coffee maker was broken, found a third place and paid for the coffee. Six minutes later they gave the last two cups to someone in the line next to me who ordered three minutes after me. That stand could screw up a one car funeral procession.

  3. But they do have popcorn and Cracker Jack. So, I almost don’t care if we ever get back (especially after several 20-oz. beers)!

  4. I bring my own, even back at KFEC/FH or PJCS – I bring a bag of Meijer Brand peanuts…$1/oz at the concession stand vs. 20oz for $3. Gimmie a break. I’l buy your $5 “collector cup” Pepsi, but my charity has it’s limits…
