Wet and wild season for University of Louisville football, pursued relentlessly by stormy weather.

With the super storm covering the northeast, one has to be thankful UofL is not playing Temple on the road this weekend. The event may have run its course by Saturday, but the after effects are likely to linger for weeks and months.

This is one of those weeks when the unpredictable has become all too possible. Philadelphia is only 60 miles from Atlantic City, NJ, on the Atlantic Ocean.

News reports indicated that many airports have been closed and 12,000 flights had already been cancelled Monday. One hopes the Temple football team has access to a charter flight because scheduling will take a few days to get straightened out. There are always buses, of course, but when’s the last time a college football team boarded buses for an 11-hour trip?

Daylight will reveal more of the extent of the ongoing disaster. If the football game were to be postponed, what happens? UofL has an open date on November 17th but Temple is playing Army that day. Most likely the game would be rescheduled for the first week in December.

If so, UofL fans may get to see their team play in a snow storm. With the way the weather has gone this season, however, the more realistic possibility would be rain changing to sleet, then to snow and topped off with ice.
