Needing UofL fan support, dreaming of a Volvo S60

Lots of space in recent weeks about Volvo’s Biggest Fan of the Big Contest. Time for an update:

Steve Springer, the University of Louisville fan, is entering the stretch run of the competition, which runs through the end of the month. The contestant, who also happens to be the observer’s son, was one of 16 fans from Big East cities chosen to participate in the contest which is an innovative social marketing campaign for the Naughty Volvo S60.

In addition to a fan poll, the competition includes a series of challenge posts, including one on having the car and tickets for the UofL-Kentucky weekend. The posts hopefully getting a lot of comments and Tweets from Card Game readers, earning him points. Here are the current standings for the challenge posts:

  • Dave Krupinski, St. John’s, 17.5 stars
  • Dan Murphy, Notre Dame, 16.5 stars
  • Laurel Mills, Georgetown, 16.5 stars
  • Andrew Porter, UConn, 16 stars
  • Steve Springer, Louisville, 14.5 stars
  • Damon Amendolara, Syracuse, 12 stars

As for the fan poll, Steve and UofL are currently in second place, trailing Dave Krupinski of St. John’s by some 2,600 “votes”. They are far out in front of fans from UConn, Notre Dame and Cincinnati in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The poll is only one segment but it is a major segment and Steve could certainly use the support of his fellow U of L fans. If I could have chosen a son, it would have been Steve. Vote here.
