University of Louisville baseball fans, listen up.

Plans are well under way to double the seating capacity from 1,500 to 3,000 as part of a $3.5 million expansion of Jim Patterson Stadium. His namesake has already contributed another $1 million and between $2.5 and $2.7 million has been collected.

Now fans are needed to step up. Construction will start after completion of the current season if the money is in the bank.

Contributions of between $300 and $1,000 will get one’s name permanently displayed on a 9 x 10-foot structure in the concourse, consisting of approximately 1,000 baseballs. A $300 contribution can be charged to a credit card, with monthly payments of $12.50 deducted over a period of 24 months.

A signing party will be held at the ribbon cutting ceremony where fans will autograph balls, placing them in the display. Here’s a link to the artist’s rendering of the stadium expansion.
