Seems like the college football season began a couple of weeks ago, taking so long to arrive in the first place.

The last home game a startling reminder that this kind of fun won’t be available again for nine more months, unless the University of Louisville gets a bowl invitation. The season goes so fast.

Something about football unrivaled by any other sport, a game in which physicality is expected and rewarded. The atmosphere is without parallel, the tailgating, the fall weather. the stadium, all the color.

Even more special for fans who have witnessed the growth, the challenges, the ups and downs of UofL football. Some never imagining having one’s own stadium, much less one with 55,000 seats.

One regrets the early start of the basketball season, which until a couple of years ago didn’t start until early December. This year, especially. Drawing attention away from what Charlie Strong is accomplishing with this team.

One more home football game. Getting there early.
