Want to know how to plan your weekend? Just pay attention to what Dan McDonnell does. The University of Louisville baseball coach keeps a sharp eye on weather patterns, rescheduling a game or setting up a doubleheader at the first sign of a cumulous cloud.

Rather than a single game Friday, the Louisville-Rutgers series has been adjusted to include two games, with the first game scheduled at 3 p.m. The concluding game of the series is still set for 11 a.m. on Saturday. If rain washes out the Saturday game, the teams will play Sunday at noon.

The coach probably should have gone ahead and scheduled the final game for Sunday to avoid potential traffic nightmares with the Kentucky Derby in his back yard.

But, hey, he’s gotten every game in thus far.
