On the eve of the University of Louisville’s return to college football’s bowl ranks, Charlie Strong has collected a couple of commitments that, along with the players already committed, almost assure his team will spend future Decembers in sun-drenched locations.

Five-star quarterback prospect Teddy Bridgewater and three-star receiver Eli Rogers, both of whom decommitted from Miami, announced Monday that they are headed to Louisville, according to the Orlando Sentinel:

Bridgewater had several reasons for picking the Cardinals, he wrote in a text Monday morning. One was Louisville’s lack of depth at quarterback, but the rest were about comfort.

“I feel comfortable around the coaches and players,” Bridgewater texted. “I like the city, the school, atmosphere and the fans’ loyalty to the program.”

Rogers also cited atmosphere in his text message.

“It feels like a family and the best opportunity for me,” Rogers texted. He also said Strong was another influence because he is a “great role model.”

Barry Every, a recruiting analyst for Rivals.com, says: “Bridgewater has excellent arm strength, but can also put touch on the ball when needed. He has great pocket presence and the ability to make yards with his feet. He is most dangerous buying time in the pocket while the coverage breaks down. Bridgewater has tremendous confidence in his abilities and is a natural leader. ”

The scoop on Rogers from ESPN:  “This kid is really explosive and sudden as an overall athlete that could play both the inside and outside receiving positions and be a difficult guy to handle in space. He has just average height, but strong, lean bulk on his frame.”
