Maybe ESPN will come to the rescue, maybe not.

You know, with a showcase game for Teddy Bridgewater against a traditional power in 2013, the national spotlight for a possible Heisman Trophy contender. But it’s getting pretty late in the calendar, and ESPN hasn’t done University of Louisville football any favors of late.

Unless that happens, UofL will have to do it on its own, much like everything the school has accomplished over the last decade. Teddy included.

Right now, the 2013 football schedule is not all that attractive. Charlie Strong has already called the fans out a couple of times. He may have to take the next step, whatever that is, next season. The last one before UofL joins the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Big East has announced the opponents for the season without the dates. UofL’s schedule will include:

Home: Ohio University Eastern Kentucky, Florida International, Central Florida, Memphis, Rutgers, and San Diego State.

Away: Kentucky, Boise State, Cincinnati, Connecticut, and South Florida.

With UK, Cincinnati and Boise State on the road, Charlie could have his hands full on two fronts, on the field and at the gate.
