As it turns out, reports of Shoni Schimmel’s demise were premature.
Shoni went off for a career high 38 points Wednesday in the University of Louisville women’s basketball team’s 78-75 win South Florida at Tampa.
She hit eight three-pointers (out of 14 attempts) in the game, a distinction she now shares with former Cardinals Becky Burke and Angel McCoughtry.
McCoughtry, who scored 43 points in a game in December 2009, holds the individual game scoring record.

The Lady Cards return to the KFC Yum! Center Saturday at 2 p.m. to face Georgetown. UofL is currently averaging 9,423 fans per game. That’s 368 fewer than UConn’s per game average, which is second nationally. Tennessee is first with more than 12,000 per game.
Jeff Walz wants to pull back the black curtains on the third level Saturday for his 18-4 team.
Nice fans status of Tennessee. I must say UConn can increase his fans per game if they continuously play well in every game and if they beat Tennessee then this gonna be huge plus for UConn.
