• A game Louisville could have and should have won but that doesn’t get you anything, except the confidence that this team continues to improve under Charlie Strong’s hand.
  • Wreck after wreck all over town, every major interstate, stretching a 30-minute drive into an hour-and-a-half drive. No short cuts to be found anywhere. From now on, leave four hours before the game.
  • 55,106 in attendance, second largest in U of L football history. Even more impressive was the percentage of butts in the seats as the team ran on the field. The message may be getting through.
  • Nice to see a good contingent of Cincinnati fans for a change. The old bandwagon works every time.
  • Bilal Powell rushing for 209 yards, the 85-yarder one of the most impressive in school history, breaking at least three tackles.
  • Darius Ashley with nine tackles in one game, as well as an interception. He’s got the hang of it.
  • Slow traffic getting out of the parking lot, slowest ever. That’s the cost you pay when most of the fans stick around for the end of the game.
  • Is it really 1 a.m. after finally getting back home?

  1. Defensive secondary will get better in time. Until then, it’s our glaring weakness. We won’t run into a QB with Collaros’ skills again until the Eers come to town. Maybe by then, they will have continued to improve.

  2. I have a slight concern about the attendance appearance during the game, I have tickets around the 40 yard line, in section EE above the visiting team, so I have a fairly good view of the home team side. At the first qtr, home team butt-in-seat ratio seemed to be around 95% filled, yet as the exciting, and very winnable game continued, the ratio would drop heavily. midway through the 3rd qtr i’d say the home team side dropped to below 75% and continued to falter. Now I realize that the bathroom situation is horrendous right now for men, I can speak from personal experience of having to walk past two line-less female restrooms (according to the girl who was with me) to go stand in a line for more than 15 minutes in the mens restroom, but usually if restrooms are the issue the numbers should go back up around the 4th qtr which was not the case, when the BnS ratio was faltering under 50%. This was a close game, which could have at the very least been tied on the last few possessions and people still left. could we have won if we would have maintained the 95% ratio throughout the game on the side where our men sit? I don’t know, but at least then we the fans could have done everything in our power to contribute.
In summery: Show up early, Cheer your heads off (I’m still unable to speak :P) and see the outcome through. this should be the creed of the U of L Fan. or at least a requirement to sit behind the home team you are supposed to be supporting!
    Go Cards!

PS dear TJ: how about funding a few time studies to determine the ratio of men to women, the amount of beer sold to said gender, and the average rate in time per beer sold that either has to use the restroom, in combination to tailgating, to determine the optimal position and number of restrooms needed for each? It’s not much fun having a guy from Cinci standing next to me for 10 minutes decide its best to just pee in the sink 😛

  3. I really hope I’m wrong but I have the horrible feeling that after leaving the new arena we may actually look back on “ring road” as the good ole days.

    Please let me be wrong.

  4. I wish I had gone the Watterson!

I had to come in on 64 then up 65…

I have my secret ways to get in and out semi-quickly… LOL

  5. Summary of why we didn’t win: We couldn’t stop Cincy…and we couldn’t convert in red zone.

Summary of game: Outstanding effort, performance and entertainment…by team and fans!

May I emphasize : We have an outstanding coaching staff–top to botttom!!! Probably the overall staff that I’ve seen here.

(And Charlie–it took me 45 min to get in and 1 hr to get out. Drive your horse-and -buggy faster 🙂

    1. Frank, apparently you weren’t on either I-64 or I-65, I didn’t even want to touch the Watterson.

  6. I was at the game and it was sooo much fun! Although we lost, it wasn’t by that much and we are still light years ahead of last season! I’m glad more fans were there for the kick-off but it has to improve…there were still many empty seats on the brown-williamson (home side) of the stadium. Anyways, can’t wait for my return to PJC Stadium! Go Cards!
