The first basketball game in the KFC Yum! Center?

That will be the University of Louisville women in an exhibition game against Indiana Wesleyan on Oct. 30. The men’s team will play an exhibition the next night, on Halloween, against Northern Kentucky.

Jeff Walz announced the schedule of 30 other games Monday that includes 15 home games, including visits by Tennessee, Rutgers, Kentucky and West Virginia. Other key games include UConn, Cincinnati and Notre Dame on the road.

The Lady Cards will also play three games in the Dual In The Desert tournament in Las Vegas. The good news (for people with long memories) is that Nevada Reno will not be a participant. Opponents will be Marist, Houston and Nebraska.

  1. 4 out of the first 7 are away games and a seventeen day stretch on the road in December. Another 13 day stretch travelling in late November? Are you sure we’ve moved away from the cow shows and equipment dealers of Freedom Hall?
