An estimated 9,000 fans converged on Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium for autographs from members of the University of Louisville football Sugar Bowl champions Saturday.
Charlie Strong and members of the coaching staff were busy signing everything from Sugar Bowl posters and footballs to jerseys and Maker’s Mark commemorative bottles.
The Charlie Strong table had at least 1,500 people waiting in line, the line extending outside the stadium almost to the indoor football practice facility. Among those waiting in line were Brian Willman and Mark Willman (at left). Lots of patience required on a warm, muggy day.
