Despite the University of Louisville’s abysmal performance against Marquette on Tuesday, ESPN bracketologist specialist Joe Lunardi still projects U of L making the tournament field, as a No. 9 seed against UNLV, a No. 8 seed. The Las Vegas team, which beat Louisville earlier this season, is 21-7.

The Louisville baseball Cards are sailing along with an 8-0 record after Wednesday’s 13-6 win over Evansville at Jim Patterson Stadium. They play three games at home starting Friday against Le Moyne College, a Jesuit school located in Syracuse — 3 p.m. Friday, Noon Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday.

The U of L women’s basketball season opens play in the Big East Tournament at Hartford as the No. 13 seed against No. 12-seed Pittsburgh Friday at Noon. Games will be telecast on Big East TV.
