University of Louisville football players will have plenty of activities to keep them occupied between those intensive practice sessions leading up to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte. Fun and games, for sure, but we have a feeling that Charlie Strong will keep them focused on the business at hand. Here’s the schedule:

Thursday, December 22

Teams’ Shopping Spree at Belk Department (Southpark), 8 – 10 p.m. — Players pick their own bowl gifts as they will visit the flagship Belk store in Southpark. Belk will roll out the red carpet with the men’s section set up specifically for the players, with electronics displays and an expanded Big & Tall section.

Friday, December 23

Teams’ Outing to Charlotte Motor Speedway, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. — Players rev up with three-lap ride-along with a driver from the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Tire-changing competitions will be held between the schools, and the head coaches will be presented with special souvenirs.

Players Reception at Strike City (Epicentre), 4:15-7:30 p.m. — Teams welcomed to Charlotte (Louisville 4:15-5:45 p.m., NC State 6-7:30 p.m.)

Saturday, December 24

Levine Children’s Hospital, 9:30-10:30 a.m. — Head coaches and select members of each team spread holiday cheer to ill children

Sunday, December 25

Merry Christmas, all day.

Monday, December 26

Media Day at Fuel Pizza (On the Green across from Convention Center), 10– 11:30 a.m. — Official media function and last interview opportunities with head coaches and players prior to the game.

Media Luncheon at Fuel Pizza, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. — NC State walkthrough at Bank of America Stadium, Noon. U of L walkthrough at Bank of America Stadium, 2:30 p.m.

Battle of the Bands (Piedmont Town Center), 4–5 p.m. — Team marching bands from the University of Louisville and North Carolina State.

Tuesday, December 27

Belk Bowl FanFest, 2 p.m.–7 p.m. — Food and entertainment with live music,  interactive games, face painting, official bowl and school merchandise sales, cheerleaders and pep bands. Live in concert this year will be national recording artists Daughtry and Edwin McCain.

Belk Bowl Kickoff, 8 p.m.
