Uncomfortable at best.

Lots of uncertainty surrounding the University of Louisville football program with the North Carolina game coming up.

  • An inept offensive performance against a mediocre defense in the most recent outing.
  • The quarterback situation. Will Stein has said he’s ready but Teddy Bridgewater is too. A small fragile quarterback with limited experience versus a youthful physically-gifted signal caller with great potential and a growing number of interceptions. Not confidence inspiring.
  • An offensive line unable to push any line but that of an archrival out of the neutral zone. “We’re using the best people we have,” says Charlie Strong.
  • Running backs rushing into walls, going nowhere.
  • Mike Sanford, the offensive coordinator, is reported to have had a run in with one or more coaches at a practice session this week.  His current and future status said to be uncertain.
  • A North Carolina team being penalized for recruiting violations, but considerably stronger directly or in part because of the rules breaking under the previous coach.

This is not where we thought U of L football would be, even during another rebuilding season. Charlie Strong and all those seniors spoiled us last season.

Add to that all the uncertainty surrounding conference realignments.

Solemn Saturday.
