Charlie Strong has obviously been too busy to be distracted by coaching vacanies.

DeAngelo Brown, a 6-foot-1 nose tackle from Savannah Christian, has verbaled to play football at the University of Louisville.

Brown is fresh from a dominating performance Saturday as an integral part of a defensive unit that allowed just 41 yards of total offense on the way to winning the first Georgia High School Association title in school history.

The 20-3 win over Landmark Christian for the Class A title was the last game of a stellar high school career. After the game, Brown took the next step in his football career, announcing his commitment to U of L.

He had narrowed his choices to the Cardinals, Georgia Tech and South Florida.
