Emmonnie Henderson is a day-in and day-out competitor, as tough as they come. Fun to watch, too, an athlete you want on your side.

Henderson was named the ACC’s Women’s track and  field Performer of the Week after a career day at the Tennessee Challenge over the weekend.

Henderson, who also plays for the University of Louisville women’s basketball team, recorded a throw of 53-07.75 feet (16.35m) to win the shot put event. She followed that up with a toss of 188-09 feet (57.54m) in capturing the discus competition.

She now ranks third all-time on the Louisville all-time list behind All-Americans Chinwe Okoro and Jere’ Summers.  Henderson’s throw in the discus ranks fifth nationally this season, and her shot put throw ranks 21st.
