The outlook for the University of Louisville football team’s offensive line just got better, much better, with the verbal commitment of Lukayus McNeil, a 6-foot-7, 272-pound tackle from Indianapolis Decatur High School.

Tabbed as a three-star prospect by Rivals, McNeil selected UofL over Michigan State. Other schools being mentioned were Indiana, N.C. State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Iowa, Kentucky, Purdue and Minnesota.

Never fear. Strength coach Pat Moorer will put 25 to 30 additional pounds of muscle on that frame.

McNeil’s commitment brings to 26 the number of verbals to Coach Charlie Strong’s first Atlantic Coast Conference recruiting class in 2014.

National signing day is Feb. 5.
