A young fan gets a moment in the spotlight with probable starting quarterback Will Stein, a moment the youngster may forget but not his mom and dad.

Fan Day for University of Louisville fans at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Football season two and a half weeks away, approximately 2,000 of the faithful showing up for the annual autograph ritual.

Lines forming around the concourse, mom, dad, all the kids decked out in U of L Cards gear. The longest line, stretching as far as the eye can see, for the coaches, for Charlie Strong, Vance Bedford, Clint Hurtt and company. Posters, footballs, shirts, gotta get those autographs.

A new look for Victor Anderson, at least one we haven’t seen, as he signs yet another of many autographs. Maybe a personal effect of Saturday’s storm blast that left more than 119,000 Louisvillians without electricity.

Dave Sanders (center) and his son Jason were obviously having good success in collecting as many signatures as possible on their U of L-branded footballs. That’s Alexis Causey, Dave’s niece, at left.

Some fans wanted Charlie Strong to autograph more than one item and he appears to be on the verge making an exception in this instance. Assistant coach Clint Hurtt observes the negotiations.
