Wide receiver Trent Guy is on the mend, wanting to rejoin the University of Louisville football team, possibly as soon as early October.

Haven’t heard the first word on the low life who accosted Guy’s fiance and shot him in the back. No word either on any disciplining of the off-duty officer/security guard/coward who refused Guy’s request to escort the couple back to their car prior to the shooting.

One would hope these characters get what’s coming to them, sooner rather than later. Justice needs to be meted out. Somebody has to know the suspect, and the LMPD needs to enforce the code-of-conduct for off-duty officers.

Guy’s focus, however, must understandably be on a full recovery.  The 5-foot-9 junior from Charlotte, NC, had a good future in front of him before the incident occurred. Work extra hard, become even more committed, continue being a team leader, pull that ball into your chest, become an exceptional player, aim for the NFL.

The video provides a reminder of Trent Guy’s abilities, and a preview of future contributions to U of L football.
