Contagious?

Tia Gibbs, starting guard on the University of Louisville women’s basketball team, will miss the remainder of the season due to injury, apparently that nagging shoulder.

According to Cardinal Couple, Gibbs underwent an MRI Wednesday to have her right shoulder checked out, the same one operated on a couple of years ago

The Vanderbilt transfer, now a junior, averaged 8.8 points and 3.9 rebounds last season. She had played only four minutes this year and will apply for a medical redshirt.

Her team defeated Eastern Kentucky 77-53 Thursday at Richmond.

  1. Tia tore her labrum in her right shoulder. The MRI revealed the tear and a bone fragment. Expected to undergo surgery at the end of the fall semester and will be out 3-4 months…effectively ending her season.

Those team leading steals from last year (95) and 8.8 points a game will be missed.
