Third Florida Assistant To Louisville

[stextbox id=”custom”]   Florida sunshine. Who needs it?

Vance Bedford

Vance Bedford has officially become the third University of Florida football coach to depart for Louisville, having been picked by Coach Charlie Strong to be U of L’s defensive coordinator. He joins Kenny Carter who was recently named assistant coach for running backs and special teams at Louisville.

Bedford, who served as linebackers coach under Strong’s defensive schemes at Florida, will be Louisville’s defensive coordinator.  He previously served as defensive coordinator at Oklahoma State for two seasons.

Of special interest to U of L fans who also follow the Chicago Bears (as  does the observer), Bedford coached defensive backs for that NFL franchise for six seasons.

Louisville’s weather is mild by Chicago standards.
