Update: False alarm
[stextbox id=”custom”]Moments after brushing past Steve Kragthorpe and his son Brad at the Bob Evans Restaurant on Hurstbourne Lane on their way out of town, here comes a call from a friend with the news that Tampa TV stations are reporting that Charlie Strong will be the new head football coach at the University of Louisville. Yes, we left a nice tip.[/stextbox]

  1. don’t you just hate it when those people in Gainesville mess up what is going on and being reported in tampa? Kinda like Richmond, KY scooping the louisville press.

  2. Is that the same guy that predicted a Cubs trip to the World Series this year, the presidency of John McCain, a reunion tour for Led Zeppelin and $1.00 gas? Tom is great for wide eyed, “what if” speculation and a very imaginative writer, but much like a bowl of tomato Soup, should be taken with a grain of salt. The ol’ Smokin’ Fastball will toss you a change up now and then…

  3. Tom is an avid U of L fan who has no fear when it comes to expressing his aspirations for the program, and he’s a great writer with definite points of view. He has worked closely with some of the principals and has some valuable insights. He may not always be right on target but he puts himself on the line and, for that, we are all richer as Cardinal fans.

  4. Is this the same Tom Stosberg who told us there was going to be a major big time hire announced on the Monday after Kragthorpe’s last game? Can you just go ahead and ban Stosberg’s guesses since he characterizes them as fact? I know this is a blog, but really.

    1. Sorry but what Tom reported is absolutely what he was told and the person who told him stands by it as of this afternoon….he said that it was reported on a Florida television station that Strong will be the next HC at the U of L. This was not a “guess” by any means. The guy called Tom and Tom contacted Charlie.

  5. I spent a lot of time this afternoon googling and came up with nothing newer than a 12/2 post by one station that Strong is a major candidate.
