Louisville soccer goes for undefeated season in final match

Freshman (!) Dylan Mares celebrates after scoring his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the University of Louisville soccer team’s 2-1 win at Syracuse on Wednesday. The Zionsville, Ind., native is a former Indiana All-State player who led his team to a state championship with 24 goals last season.

The photo was taken Jay Rolfe, the father of UofL player Colin Rolfe, who has three goals this season. Second in scoring is Nick DeLeon with six. Jay Rolfe works in Business Application Development and Support for the Ford Motor Credit Company in Dearborn, Mich., and travels to many of his son’s games. Ken Lolla’s team wraps up the regular season Saturday against Villanova at Cardinal Park at 7 p.m.
