How about a big 6-foot-7 guard? A small forward? He plays both positions apparently.

One averaging 20-plus points and six assists per game? That’s what the University of Louisville be getting in Shaqquan Aaron, a five-star player from Seattle ranked 15th in his class.Screen Shot 2013-02-16 at 9.32.01 PM

He hails from Rainer Beach High School, the same school with the same coach that sent Terrence Williams to UofL several years ago. His coach Mike Bethea told the Courier-Journal:

“Of course we have history there with Terrence going there, and we’re pretty close with (Seattle native/U of L senior) Peyton Siva,” Bethea  said. ” … He came back (from the visit), and he was just blown away by it.”

“The biggest thing I told (Aaron’s family) is that coach Pitino is kind of an extension of me,” the coach said. “You can feel comfortable handing your kid off to Coach Pitino. It’s not going to be a case where he goes down there, then is coming home saying he can’t stand it. If you like playing for me, you’re going to love playing for Coach Pitino.”

According to the Seattle Times, he had interest from Syracuse, UCLA, Arizona, UNLV and Washington.

He said the opportunity for early playing time was one of his deciding factors, but more important than that was the feeling that Louisville was the right fit for him.

Gotta wait a couple of years though. Class of 2014.
