Basketball season has arrived, ready or not.
Big opening game for Rick Pitino, notching the 600th win of his career in the opener against Tennessee-Martin.
Pitino’s wins have been shared by fans at Boston College, Providence University, University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville. He already has a national championship and four final fours under his belt at three different schools.
Other than injuries, one never knows quite what to expect from a Pitino-coached team. There will, of course be tremendous highs, a shocking loss or two, an unbelievable comeback, and some Pitino sarcasm and doublespeak along the way.
He’s loving the game more than ever, he says, and he has plenty to work with this season.
