Home again for Card Game, back in The Ville, never much of a road warrior, the observer easing back into things, assuming the ears quit ringing soon, meanwhile cherry picking the net:

Fran Fraschilla, an ESPN analyst who covers college games and analyzes foreign players in the NBA draft told the New York Times he was pretty certain Louisville recruit Jeremy Tyler wasn’t going to Europe for the money, noting that Tyler could easily earn $200,000 in the states:

“He could pretty much get that money illegally, either via a college or an agent, willing to funnel his family the money,” Fraschilla said. “I’m hoping this is a savvy move to really improve his game.”

Incoming basketball recruit Peyton Siva in response to a question from Slam Online about how he feels as a point guard seeing Samardo Samuels, Terrence Jennings and incoming freshman Rakeem Buckels as the big guys that you get to give the ball to at Louisville:

“Man, my eyes just light up. Those guys are very talented players. All I have to do is throw them the ball and they’re going to get their points. Next year that’s going to be my job, distribute the ball to those guys and get them easy buckets. I can’t wait to play with those guys next year, I think they’re very talented and good at what they do.”

Former Louisville football center Eric Wood, the second pick of the Buffalo Bills in the NFL draft, is as the Buffalo News notes, “a mild-mannered, soft-spoken guy off the field, but when the pads go on he morphs into someone you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley”:

“It’s all about flipping the switch when you get on the field,” said Wood. “You can do things on a football field that are severely illegal on the street. I did kind of flip that switch and try to take it to people on the field.”

The observer welcomes David Khaliel and Jim Reed as the newest members of the Card Game Community, wondering why two known UK fans would show their faces here. Have you joined yet? The real Kerry Rhodes is a member, too. Welcome Kerry.

  2. Eric Wood, Center from Louisville, drafted #28 overall – to the Buffalo Bills ….same team Will Wolford played for (at one point in his career).

Wolford was the Buffalo Bills’ first round pick (#20) in the 1986 draft!

    Congratulations Eric!
