Can’t hurt. Might help.

The University of Louisville men’s basketball team will unveil its new, ultra-lightweight adidas adizero uniforms this week at the Big East Tournament.

Adidas says the new “InfraRED” uniforms will be more than 25 percent lighter than their previous uniforms. The attire features a “ClimaCool” zone, which moves heat and sweat away from the body for optimal moisture-wicking and breathability to keep jersey from gaining weight, a technology used in the NBA.

And get this: The shorts are said to possess a “four-way stretch woven material used to increase mobility and speed.”

Can’t wait to see that.

  1. There is tradition. And when that tradition is solely positive it should be a continuing part of the history of The University of Louisville. These former national champions wore red & black for so many years of athletic achievement. Let’s face it. The orange & black playoff uniforms of 2012 are hideous. Just stick with what is classic – Cardinal red & black.

    1. And hope the technology improves in the meantime. Probably not there yet for pure red.

  2. How about this for a headline–“The Mango Manglers fold, spindle and mutilate the Beasts of the East”!?
Yeah, the uniforms are non-standard but the guys found their game. Go Cards!

  3. Then they came to New York wearing uniforms whose color no one has yet figured out. Now you can color them champions. -Eric Crawford

If they are going to play the way they have for the last four games, they could be wearing blue for all I care. 🙂

  4. With out a doubt the most horrendous uniforms I have ever seen the proud Cardinal adorn. News flash, our main color is cardinal red, not some electrified red that looks orange on TV and is better suited to use in construction safety signs. Please just stop, and return to the Proud Dunking Cardinal!!!!!!!!!

  5. Still with the adidas. Unis look good, no doubt, but Nike is the way Cards should go.
