If you haven’t visited the official University of Louisville Athletics web site lately, you should. A new look was unveiled yesterday and the graphics are dazzling. The content has been greatly expanded to include many new features, including a live scoreboard, which one presumes will include continuing updates during UofL games.

The Game Day page includes Gametracker for updates during games, just in case you’re unable to tune in any other way. You’ll also find the media guide, updated depth charts and news updates. Still obviously a work in progress, the Multimedia page will include CardsTV, podcasts, photo galleries, photo store, podcasts, buddy icons, and RSS feeds. Add it to your favorites, it’s a keeper.

While you’re at it, bookmark Card Game as well. Better still, click on the RSS feed at the top of this page and receive updates automatically.

What’s Ted Washington Up To? –– Well, according to his team roster, former UofL tackle Ted Washington is up to 375 pounds. At the age of 40, he’s  with the Cleveland Browns, his seventh National Football League team since leaving Louisville in 1990. He played in all 16 games for the Browns two years ago but appeared in only five last season, making a total of six tackles. May be nearing the end of a colorful career.

Big Ted will be remembered by veteran UofL fans as the force behind a defensive line that blocked two consecutive field goal attempts in the closing seconds of the opening game 1990 season to secure a tie against San Jose State. That team went on to defeat Alabama 34-7 in the Fiesta Bowl.

Want A Football Scholarship? – If you’re a good high school player and want to catch the eyes of the UofL football coaching staff, send your specs to them directly at Cyberquestive.com. Be sure to include your ACT and SAT scores, as well as your 40-yard and 100-yard dash times, your bench and squat weights, your  vertical jump and any injuries you may have incurred.  Wouldn’t recommend sharing your Social Security number, however. The other numbers are the only ones that matter.

Kerry Rhodes Dot Com – Speaking of web sites, former UofL safety Kerry Rhodes has a great web site here, with career highlights, info about the Kerry Rhodes Foundation and his acting career. Yep, he has been in a couple of movies. He has rapidly become a highly respected linebacker with the New York Jets.
