C. L. Brown has been named the new University of Louisville beat writer by the Courier-Journal sports department. Brown actually makes the announcement himself on his new blog.

“Through this blog I aim to bring the tidbits of news from the beat clbrown_150 that wouldn’t otherwise be reported or the behind-the-scenes observations that could only be made with a press credential.
I have a not-so hidden agenda too. I believe life has a soundtrack and plan on mixing my love of music in with my posts. Sometimes that will come in the form of paraphrasing lyrics to songs (i.e. the intro to this post) and sometimes it will just be linked.”

The posting really doesn’t reveal much about the writer except that he covered Lady Cards basketball, he’s from North Carolina, and he enjoys music. The music is a distraction thus far. He follows two great reporters in Eric Crawford and Brian Bennett, so he has his work cut out for him.
