Mike Marra has suffered his last injury as a college basketball player.

He’s done after suffering another ACL injury during the first 10 minutes of a University of Louisville practice session Friday. The 6-foot-5 senior played two games last season before incurring his first ACL injury to the same knee.

Marra has already been offered and accepted a graduate assistant spot, starting his career in coaching under Rick Pitino.

  1. I was really looking forward to him returning some of the Pitino Bombino element to our game this year.Always liked his headiness with the game, as well. Let’s hope he can funnel those thoughts through Luke and others.

  2. Very sad news that he is injured and retired. I had to come to see him as an under-rated member of our team. Kudos to Coach Pitino for finding a place for Mike, I expect he will serve us well.

On another note, this opens up speculation that CRP will add yet another recruit for this season, or, at least have another spot for next year’s incoming class.
