Two more from Miami.

Two more outstanding high school athletes from that city have committed to play football for Charlie Strong at the University of Louisville.

They are Gerod Holliman, a safety, and his high school teammate, Andrew Johnson, a defensive back, made it known Saturday that they had made up their minds. Holliman announced on national TV during halftime ceremonies of the U.S. Army All-American game. Johnson verbaled a short time later.

Holliman picked Louisville over MIssissippi and West Virginia. Johnson Miami, Mississippi, West Virginia and LSU.

Gotta love what Johnson told the Courier-Journal:

“It’s exciting for us to be coming to Louisville,” Johnson said. “We wanted to be a part of the group they bring in to rebuild the program.

“We wanted to be part of the group that wins the national championship for Louisville.”

Their commitments bring to 11 the number of Louisville players from Miami, including six new recruits and the five already on the roster.

And the door is still open.
