Staying hungry.

We knew Angel McCoughtry was special when she played basketball at the University of  Louisville. One of those inidividuals who comes out of nowhere to leave an unbelievable legacy.

With her U.S. team clinging to a 53-49 lead over Croatia with 9:20 to go, McCoughtry enters the fray, going to work immediately. Scoring two straight baskets to pad the lead, her team would rattle 16 in a row to put the game out of reach. Final score 81-56.

Thirteen points, at least two steals, for Angel. No question about who would be on camera after the game.

  1. Number two scorer missing only one shot and played only 11 minutes! Third fewest on the team!! Bet if she had gone to UConn Gino would have given her 20 + like the UConn girls got.

  2. That’s our Angel. Her and three other non-UConn players sparked that rally.

    Getting the idea, Geno?
