You be the judge. Does Monique Reid beat the shot clock on the final shot in Louisville’s 67-48 win over Providence on Saturday?

Pretty obvious because the rule says the shot must be launched before time elapses and either hits the rim or goes through the basket. Louisville was led by Becky Burke with 18 points, Reid and Nikki Burton had 13 points, and Keisha Hines had 12. This team is getting better, folks, point guard or no point guard.

The Lady Cards are 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the Big East. They play again next Saturday at Georgetown University. Sonja’s wrapup.

  1. Look for a feature on McCurty and a couple of the other 2011 prospects here soon, Joe. Her team is 5-1 so far and she leads them in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots. Chances are she’ll be 6’6″ or taller by the time she gets to UofL..she’s just a junior this year and still growing.

  2. Nice recap of the women’s game, Sonja. Had to do some searching to find it but nice report as always.

What are you hearing about future Lady Card Quaneisha McCurty? Was talking with a buddy who has a lot of interest in Georgia high school sports and he says she is the real deal.
