An historic day for the University of Louisville athletic program on Friday. The UofL Volleyball team becoming the first team in the school’s history to go undefeated during the regular season. That’s in all sports. No other Louisville team in modern times has had a perfect season.

The Cardinals defeated Notre Dame to wrap up the season with 28 wins against no losses. They were also 18-0 in claiming the Atlantic Coast Conference crown, only the sixth team to ever go undefeated in the conference.

This UofL team also became the first Louisville Volleyball team to be voted No. 1 in the nation. They have, in fact, finished the regular season as the top team in the country. The first team to be the top rated team in the NCAA’s RPI power ratings, winning six games against teams ranked in the nation’s top 10 teams.

Coach Dani Busboom Kelly’s program will be the first Louisville team ever to be seeded No.1 in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. Expect Kelly to be the National Coach of the Year and for Louisville to have multiple players on the All-American team.

So much talent and confident, with a group of fearless young women who enjoy each other and playing their chosen game. A special team already, but they are not done yet.

The 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Tournament will begin on December 2, 2021 and end on December 18th. The Final Four will be held at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The national semifinals will be held on December 16 and the championship match will be held on December 18.

The Atlantic Coast Conference trophy was claimed earlier this week.
