Among the surprise visitors at the Rivals-sponsored football signing celebration were University of Louisville signees Jalen Harrington, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound safety, and Jamon Brown, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive tackle. They were teammates at Fern Creek High School

Harrington said he expects Coach Charlie Strong to be a very demanding coach who expects his players to work hard. “I admire that in him because he’s going to set some stringent standards,” he said. “People who don’t work hard for him aren’t going to get much playing time. I want to live up to his demands and expectations.”

Brown said he believes Strong will make him a better football player, but an even better person.

Approximately 250 people, including former Cardinal greats Wally Oyler and Gil Sturtzel, packed the cramped but colorful Parrish House, across from Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
