Nick Solak collects third home run in win over North Carolina State.

Nick Solak would hit his third home run of the season over the left field fence in the first inning. Good thing because runs would be hard to come by for University of Louisville baseball team on Friday.

McKay would claim his 10th victory against only two defeats this season, striking out eight batters while holding the visitors to three hits until the last out in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Reliever Zach Burdi would take over at that point, striking out three of the final four batters to claim his eighth save of the season.

Logan Taylor would be credited with the driving in the only other run for Louisville, his scorcher across the first base bag sending Blake Tiberi home from third  in the seventh inning.

The win lifted UofL back into first place in the ACC’s Atlantic Coast Division by .13 percentage points after Duke defeated Florida State 5-4 in Durham.
