Something special is already happening with the University of Louisville baseball team, having jumped out of the gate with a sparkling 7-0 won-lost record. U of L made a clean sweep of Big Ten stalwarts Michigan 2-0, Michigan State 17-6 and Minnesota 5-4 over the weekend.

  • With his 2-for-5 day at the plate, Adam Duvall has hit safely in all seven games. The Louisville native leads the team in hitting at .438 overall, ranks second with two home runs and fourth in runs batted in with seven.
  • Through seven games, the Louisville pitching staff has a team ERA of just 2.39. Leading the way is junior righthander Thomas Royse who has not allowed an earned run through 11 innings. Junior right righthander Neil Holland has not allowed an earned run in his 8.2 innings.

Louisville plays Evansville Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Jim Patterson Stadium.
