Digger Phelps’ act is getting old at ESPN.
When the University of Louisville is involved in a big game, one can always count on Phelps to predict the opponent will win. Notre Dame, of course, every time. Syracuse, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, UConn, they’re always going to beat UofL. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard him predict a Louisville win.
After a while, it becomes pretty obvious when a broadcaster has a bias against a program. His latest great prediction is that UofL will be knocked out of the NCAA tournament by St. Louis. in the third game. He’s rarely accurate so one shouldn’t be overly concerned.
Childish the way he goes about it with his ESPN colleagues like Jay Bilas, Sean McDonough and Dick Vitale picking the Cardinals to win the entire tournament.
Some day Digger may get one right but it won’t be because of any special expertise or insight on his part.

The UofL baseball team is off to a 16-2 start, the second best start since 2010 when they jumped out to a 17-1 record en route to a 50-win season.
The Cardinals host Southern California, a 12-time winner of the College World Series, Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the first of two mid-week games. Free UofL baseball cards to the first 150 people through the gate. The opening pitch for the second game on Wednesday is at 5 p.m.
It’s called Pitino envy. Not to be confused with penis envy but real close.
His arrogant puffery continues to justify the view of many outside the Golden Dome faithful that they are really just “Notre Lame.”
Digger is TERRRRRRRIBLE
He’ll eventually probably predict a Louisville win someday, but only because he’s so senile that he doesn’t like the other team too and picks against them.
