The question before the season was who the “go to player” would be.

As Sports Information Director Kenny Klein noted before Rick Pitino entered the room, that question has been answered for the University of Louisville basketball team.

Preston Knowles, senior point guard.

The player in constant motion, one who motivate his teammates, goads them if necessary, gets the crowd going and wants the ball when the game is on the line. He’s never seen a shot he won’t take and Pitino will tolerate anything he throws at the basket. The ball is going in 43% of the time.

  1. Could you imagine what we could have done if T-Will had had Preston’s attitude? Another banner up there. No question.

  2. The guy plays with an edge, greatly improved over last season. Where the hell would we be without Preston Knowles?

  3. Preston is a rare breed for us on a team where everybody seems to be trying to blend in. We need more than one player to be ambitious, aggressive and willing to put their bodies on the line for Louisville. We are fortunate to have him.
