Don’t wake Jeff Walz up. He’s landing some dreamy recruiting classes.

Quaneisha McCurty, a 6-foot-6 junior from Georgia, has made a verbal commitment to play for the University of Louisville women’s basketball team, starting in the 2011 season.

McCurty averaged 14.5 points per game as a sophomore (not a typo) last season, along with eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks and five steals (not a typo).

She is ranked among the top 20 by recruiting services.

  1. When Walz was hired my wife waan’t happy because she thought a woman should have been hired. I just read her about this recruit and her comment was “That guy is such a stud!”

I should mention she changed her mind early last season.

  2. She reminds more than just a few of a young Candace Parker. With early commitments being the way they are, it isn’t etched in stone tht she’ll arrive but I sure hope she does!
