The jury has been selected, and the defendant looks ready.
In fact, Karen Sypher appears to have slimmed down, losing between 10 and 15 pounds, for the federal trial. Putting on her best front in the case in which she stands accused of attempting to extort $10 million from Rick Pitino.
She also appears to be more attractive, with softer facial features than those of the hardened blonde local viewers have been exposed to for more than a year. The camera seems to like her more, she is not so antagonistic, and she appears to be more confident.
Almost sympathetic as well.
No indication whatsoever of any compromise on her part. Determined, committed. Almost as if this is the role she has been grooming herself for for years. Playing the role of a woman scorned.
Ms. Sypher obviously has been preparing, anticipating her time in the spotlight. Gonna be quite a show for the jurors. One would hope they aren’t easily distracted.
She must be completely crazy to turn down the plea deals that were offered to her. The feds have something like a 90 % success rate on convictions. If I remember correctly, both her former attourney and the person who made the calls to Pitino have both already confessed to their involvement in her scheme. I get the feeling she knows her goose is cooked and is now just dragging this out to try and bring Pitino down with her. Get ready, Pitino and U of L are going to be drug through the mud a lot before this is over. I hope the judge and jury see through her b/s and hand down a stiff penalty. Let her rot in prison.

Ya – I hear you – it was a mutual thing between the 2 and for it to explode like this is Ridiculous. Some people love attention good or real bad like this situation.
Of course she has been prepped and well more demure’-
The trouble is they will try to prove she has a history with these situations in the past. I am afraid most people are convinced of that.She can’t pass as an innocent woman – because she isn’t. Frankly, I do not consider her to be the brightest person either. Sometimes, people like her can only resort to certain patterns in their life because they lack the mental wear with all to do any better. Down deep she smelled money and she is following that trail. It looks like they are trying for a new venue again after the overwhelming failure of the first jury selection. Here we go…
It amazes me that they are crying, oh woe is me, I can’t get a fair trial because the jury pool is biased against me…..And who did all that publicity last year??? Ridiculous.
She knows all the right strings to pull. Only takes a couple of guys on the jury to screw this thing up.
