Remember Justin Burke, who was calling signals at the end of Charlie Strong’s first season at the University of Louisville in 2010?

Justin Burke

How he threw two touchdown passes in U of L’s comeback 31-28 win over Southern Mississippi in the Beef O’Brady’s Bowl, giving Louisville a 7-6 won-loss record and the first winning football season since 2006.

Two years ago, seems like ages.

Burke is still very much a part of the football team, serving as a graduate assistant coach with the offense. He’s working toward a Master’s of Business Administration degree on the academic side.

He was awarded the Clark Wood Scholarship during Saturday’s spring football game in recoginition of his contributions.
