With their second pick in the third round of the NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints pick Johnny Patrick of the University of Louisville

As a cornerback, Patrick had five interceptions and a conference high-tying 17 passes defended during his senior season at Louisville. He was better known to opposing offenses, however, for his bone-rattling hits.

Born to play football, Patrick was fun to watch, always good for a highlight or two, setting the example for his defensive teammates.

Coach Charlie Strong was elated, tweeting: “He came a long way and I am so proud of him. Good luck, Johnny.”
