Jarvis Giles, the former transfer running back from South Carolina who has an aversion to voluntary summer workouts, was possibly considering a return to U of L this fall.

Like that was really going to happen . Now there are numerous reports that he is transferring to still another school.

Mark Kantor, his high school coach in Tampa, indicated that Giles would be returning home to play football at the University of South Florida. If that was the advice he gave to the player, he needs to apologize.

Big East rules specifically state that “once a student-athlete in football or men’s and women’s basketball attends a member institution that student-athlete cannot transfer to another member institution, directly or indirectly, and be eligible to compete in that sport.” There are no exceptions.

Giles, who was rated the No. 3 all-purpose running back by Rivals coming out of high school, can play in another conference of course, but will have to sit out next season if he transfers to another D1 school.
