Surgery comes Thursday for Hunter Bowles.

Screen Shot 2013-09-03 at 10.11.08 PMThe big 6-foot-6, 265-pound redshirt freshman tight end on the University of Louisville football team explained his situation in a Facebook post on Tuesday:

“I have what is called a Chiari Malformation, which basically means my lower skull didn’t form right as a child. Over time it has pushed on my spine. I will be having surgery to remove those parts from my lower skull/upper neck. People have asked if I will be able to play football again. As long as the cyst disappears over time, I will be able to.

“I don’t usually ask for prayers, but it would mean the world to me and my family if everyone could pray for a successful surgery …”
