Good times in the student section in the south end of the KFC Yum! Center during the University of Louisville basketball team’s 88-63 win over St. John’s. The cardboard chicken buckets have quickly become a fixture during the arena’s inaugural season, with a small segment of fans even referring to the 22,000-seat arena as “The Bucket.” Funny thing, though, the containers have a KGC label on them.

As if there were some reason for the Food Police to believe that grilled chicken could ever replace fried chicken as one of America’s favorite meals. If that were to happen, however, the arena might have to renamed the KGC Yum! Center. For the Colonel’s sake, one hopes that never happens. (Card Game photo by Menefee Seay.)

  1. The ushers in the lower level have become butt-heads, too…preventing people from returning to their seats until a stoppage in action. I paid way too much for these to have to stand next to a “yellow shirt” waiting for a time out. Last game, I just told him to (expletives deleted) and barged by him. What are they going to do, arrest me for trying to sit down?

    1. I don’t think it’s a good idea for people to walking in front of people during the middle of a play. Downright rude if you ask me. I don’t know whether you do that or not Paul but there are a lot of people who do that, usually women who don’t have a clue about what’s going on in the game and don’t anybody else does. Not a bad move for the ushers.

  2. as i was trying to get my thoughts at the area above the student section, the small leanto bar,a usher ask me for my seat ticket and proceded to inform me that i had to move along.i ask for a explanation, which he tells me that this bar on the handrail is for this section.i had a game ticket and felt that i should have been allowed to stand there as much as anyone else who had paid to get in. seems a not well thought out rule of someone’s…..no seats just a leanto
