July 3rd, 2011 will be the date his family remembers that Taylor Dant first sang the National Anthem in a large public gathering — the opening ceremony of the Waterfront Independence Celebration in downtown Louisville.

The first of many times you will hear this young man do the honors because he has a future. A senior at the Manual Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS), Taylor has won numerous competitions and awards.

He’s the son of John and Alice Dant, a couple of my favorite people. Watch for him at a future University of Louisville basketball game.

  1. Congratulations, Taylor, on your classic rendition of our national anthem. I watched the crowd and they were awestruck at your talent — so young yet so strong. We have enjoyed watching you grow up and also enjoyed your performances at St.Agnes and with the Louisville Youth Choir. A great future awaits you! John and Alice, you have a right to be proud.

  2. Charlie thanks so much for posting this on your site, you and Barbara are great friends and we are very proud of Taylor and his singing. Go Cards!
